Meeting Minutes
February 8, 2014
2/203 ♦ 3-4:30 p.m.
Purpose: Initial meeting to determine group project, assign general responsibilities, and develop timelines.
- Brainstorm processes (Jan, 10 min.)
Each member spent a few minutes writing down ideas. Then all ideas were shared. Jan wrote them on the board and asked for clarification on a few.
- Narrow down topic (Pat, 10 min.)
Pat used the Nominal Group Technique to help our group narrow down the suggestions. Our final project is improving the process of sifting mercury from oatmeal.
- Outline project (Mel, 15 min.)
The group spent a few minutes reviewing the details of the project. They will focus on developing and distributing a survey. Ultimately they will have a written report and oral presentation.
- Assign responsibilities (Nil, 13 min.)
- Survey-Pat will have a draft by the next meeting.

Current status-Nil will do an online research and report at the next meeting.
- Distribution of survey-Sha will check with the cafeteria to see if we can distribute our survey during lunch.
- Report-Ben will be lead on the report.
- Prioritize assignments (Ben, 6 min.)
The highest priority at this point is developing the survey. It is dependent on the online research.
- Schedule meetings (Sha, 17 min.)
Our next meeting is scheduled for February 12, at noon in the library.
- Review (Jan, 5 min.)
Jan reviewed the meeting outcomes, and everyone was in agreement.
