Web Site Evaluation Checklist

Use this checklist to determine the credibility of a web site and whether you should use it as a resource in your research

Is the author clearly stated and have relevant credentials?                  
Does the page have a publication or revision date clearly stated?    
Are the purpose and intended audience clearly stated?    
Is the reading level appropriate for your purpose?    
Is the information up to date?    
Is the information unbiased?    
Are sources cited so you can verify the information?    
Is the site promoting or selling anything that may indicate a conflict?    
Is the site promoting or selling anything that may indicate a conflict?    
Is the site promoting or selling anything that may indicate a conflict?    
Are the majority of the Internet links current?    
Is the page well-designed and easy to navigate?    
By looking at the URL can you tell that it’s a reputable source?    
Is the page written in a professional manner without jargon?    
Is there a link to reply to the author?    
Are the spelling and grammar correct?
