When you hear the phrase "emotional intelligence," what comes to mind? The phrase has been arounda a while, but most people are unaware about the meaning. According to Daniel Goleman, PhD, emotional intelligence is NOT about:

• Being nice all the time
• Being touchy feely
• Being emotional

Emotional intelligence is about:

• Being honest
• Being aware of your feelings and those of others
• Being smart with your emotions
